If you ask anyone who was in the crowd for F*MS, they’ll probably all say the same thing: it ROCKED. Hard.

It rocked for MANY reasons, most importantly the fact that this was a first-time fundraiser for the National MS Society's Greater Northwest Chapter, and through a combination of ticket sales, raffle items and general donations from Seattle rockers that night, the event raised $5,520!

Three additional reasons would have to be the kick-ass local bands who played that night and the fans that came out to rock with them.

The evening opened up with a killer set from Bruiser Brody, one of Seattle’s newest bands. Although they may be new as a group, they are not rookies to the scene. This powerhouse of Seattle heavy-hitters is absolutely a super group, and that was immediately apparent!

Next up came Wyatt Olney and the Wreckage, whose lead guitar player Kyle lives (and ROCKS) with Multiple Sclerosis. This band was involved in the initial conversation 8 months ago where the idea for F*MS was spawned!

Closing out the night was north-end trio WOODSHED who also served as F*MS brainstormers, as lead singer/guitarist Hunter’s girlfriend Autumn is an MS warrior, too.

There were several inspirational moments throughout the night that lit a fire within our rock community to fight back against a disease that affects SO many young people who we go to rock shows with every single week. From the WOODSHED camp, Autumn and Justin (whose wife Hannah has MS),  Kyle from Wyatt Olney and the Wreckage and Katy from the Society’s local junior board called The Movement Project all shared a bit about their diagnosis, their daily life and their quest for a world free from Multiple Sclerosis. Everyone rallied around them!

I cannot say thank you enough to all of the individuals who helped bring F*MS to life! Carl Brothers and Sara Holman, Bruiser Brody, Wyatt Olney and the Wreckage, WOODSHED, Tommy’s Guitar Shop, Alchemy Bistro & Wine Bar, musician Joe EuroTopLeft TV, Mike Lull Custom Guitars and the HUNDREDS of fans and supporters who came out on a weeknight to say F*MS!! I was touched by your involvement, honored by your presence and blessed by your energy!

If you want to do MORE in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis, please join the KISW team at Walk MS: Snohomish County on Saturday April 7th, or join The Movement Project’s team at Walk MS: Seattle on Sunday April 8th!

Happy Adventuring,
