Get a peek inside London's new Ziggy Stardust bar

Taryn's Wreckreation Guide

October 1, 2018

I haven't traveled much in my 33 years, but after learning that bar inspired by David Bowie has opened in London, I may need to book a trip to visit Ziggy's in person.

Back in 1973, David Bowie retired his Ziggy Stardust persona following a show in London, and the afterparty is still talked about some 45 years later. The soiree took place inside the Hotel Cafe Royal, where David Bowie used to hang out regularly. Some of the guests in attendance included Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney.

As of last month, fans are flocking to a new bar inside the very same hotel inspired by the legendary character and the man who brought him to life.

The cocktail menu at Ziggy's is inspired by David Bowie's songwriting, including the Tongue Twisting Storm pulled from the lyrics of 'Hang On To Yourself'.

Ziggy’s is now open, cheers! ⚡️Take a look at our Instagram stories for a sneak peek • -- : @londonfoodboy #ZiggysCocktailBar #HotelCafeRoyal #cocktails #mixology #london #drinkme

The walls of the bar are coverd with the work of David Bowie's longtime friend and renowed photographer Mick Rock.

If you find yourself traveling to the area, please make Ziggy's a must-stop! Cheers, Rockaholics.

Happy Adventuring,
