Hitting the road for snacks

April 26, 2016

So last weekend thanks to my friends down at Lakewood Ford I had a SUV for the weekend and decided to take a quick weekend trip. Years ago a girl I was dating introduced me to the town of Anacortes and I have always enjoyed it's small town charm and frankly the fish and chips at the San Juan lanes. I also should mention when going over to Anacortes make sure to hit up a small store called The Store for some baked goods. Their muffins are the best muffins you will ever have in your life and the cookies and other baked goods are great as well but those muffins are so legit. So I came up this great idea that a few friends would meet up in Anacortes to do a appetizer/pub crawl in Anacortes. Now even though I saw Taryn blog about it I feel I need to blog about it number one because it was my idea Taryn and number two is I had to give some love to Lakewood Ford because that SUV was so dope. Now the simple idea was just to do a pub crawl and I love me some appetizers and thus the idea was born. Truth be told most people in the Smith family just enjoy some cold beverages along with small snack type food. This is why when I go back to the eat coast I usually meet up with my cousins at a wing place.  One of my other traditions when driving over to Anacortes is to stop in Mt.Vernon for one beer at a sports bar called Draft Picks. Now stopping in a bar for one beer is not that exciting but they have a claw machine. Yes that claw machine that you remember as a kid and I am great at them. My buddy Joe and another guy we were talking to in the bar started saying how the machine is a rip off and you can't win at it. I went ahead and put in my dollar and won a stuffed toy. Is it a stuff toy I need or even wanted? No but I had to prove to Joe and to others in the bar that the claw machine can be tamed. Pub's, Claw machines, appetizers and good friends and a great way to spend a Saturday. The SUV is a Ford Edge that I am standing with
