Duff McKagan Wants YOUR Help to Save the Showbox!

BJ & Migs Interviews

August 13, 2018

Today is a big day Rockaholics!

As you've probably heard, The Showbox at the Market is in danger of being demolished, but today the big question is:

Can you pack City Hall on Monday, August 13 at 1:30PM?

Counsilmember Kshama Sawant’s office put forward an ordinance that will temporarily extend the boundaries of the Pike Place Market Historic District, which will give community members time and authority (through the publicly accountable Historical Commission) to Save the Showbox!

After facing initial opposition, our ordinance got a 6-0 favorable vote in a City Council committee meeting on Wednesday, which is already a huge victory for us!

But it's absolutely critical that this ordinance pass in the full council on TODAY at 1:30PM! Many Councilmembers will say they want to delay the vote. We have to demand: Vote Right Now!!

Today on the show, to promote this big task was the one and only Duff McKagan. Duff has been a huge voice in Seattle to prevent us losing our incredible music venue.

Duff isn't the only artist that is behind this cause! He not only called upon fellow musicians and artists, he's also asking for YOUR help! And he's not the only one striving to keep The Showbox from dissapearing!

So get out there and #SaveTheShowbox!

Thanks again Duff!
